Tumi Molekane only returned to Soweto, South Africa, in 1992, having been born in exile in Tanzania in 1981. Previously known as MC Fatboy, this MC and poet has made a considerable impact on the Johannesburg hip-hop scene. A member of the P.E.R.M. combo alongside Zee, Strawmoon, Space2wice, Kju52, Richard The 3rd, McWillie, Neo Shamiyaa and Dilseng, he released an album in 2001 entitled APT: An Artistic Representation of Truth, but made his solo debut the same year with The Tao of Tumi.
