Jung-hwa is a dance and electropop singer, entertainer, actress, and dancer, and
one of the most influential women in the Korean entertainment industry. Her
career began in 1987 as a member of the chorus for broadcasting company MBC. She
made her 1992 film debut in Marriage Story. In 1993, she released her first
album, Sorrowful Secret. Her next two albums were not huge successes but they
slowly built up her fanbase. Her 1998 album Invitation included the charting
