Yann Tiersen
Composer and multi-instrumentalist, Yann Tiersen's musical sphere includes
alternative and experimental rock, minimalist neo-classicism and film music. In
2001, the success of the feature film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain gave
the musician international exposure. Born in Brest on June 23, 1970, he studied
violin and piano at the conservatory and began composing for the stage, in
particular theater. Several of his early pieces are featured on his first
instrumental album La Valse des Monstres (1995), followed by the minimalist
compositions of Rue des Cascades (1996), Le Pha...
