Formed in Mexico in 1969, Grupo Yndio made a name for themselves in the 70s by playing Spanish covers of famous romantic ballads in their traditional Grupero style. Born from the ashes of the band Los Pulpos, the group's lineup was originally composed of vocalist René Sotelo, keyboardist Ernesto Pablos, guitarist Pepe Liera, bassist Eduardo Orduño, and drummer Margarito "el Mago," who was replaced by Genaro "Tilico" Solís right after the release of their studio debut Sin Tu Amor in 1972.
