Born in Saitama City Koyanagi to a Trinbagonian-American father and a Japanese mother (January 26, 1982), Japanese popstar Yuki Koyanagi burst onto the scene when she was just seventeen, scoring instant success with her first single, "Anata no kisu o kazoemashô – You Were Mine," released in September 1999 via Warner Music Japan. Her debut album, Freedom, arrived the following year and went to number six on Japan's Oricon chart.
